The objective of this proposal is to design, synthesize, and preliminarily evaluate one or more formulations of hemostatic gels suitable for delivery of neuroprotective or neurotrophic factors for TBI. The technical approach, deliverables, schedule, as well as the cost, of the proposed effort are included. APPROACH The gel to be developed should be biodegradable, biocompatible, hemostatic, and preferably expandable and have the ability to release growth factors or drugs. During the first phase of this program, the gels as described below should be developed:
